September 14 — Hotfix #4
Read Frozen Way’s full patch notes. The changes most relevant to current guides are:
- Crafting: stations reach lockers across a full-size room; split-container costs and refunds are corrected. Storage checks.
- Food and equipment: container spoilage, difficulty-based wear and fainting penalties change. Current rules.
- Building: construction recipes no longer require Diodes.
- Stability: shadow rendering changes address reported GPU crashes. Choose the relevant fix.
Announced next: cave passage, nests and quest fixes
The September 14 post separates an upcoming batch from the shipped changes. It lists reopening the Mystery Beacon cave, nest placement and materials, the Scout Drone objective, Dust Storm progress and unobtainable Compendium entries. Do not assume these are fixed by Hotfix #4.
At this September 15 check, the retrieved official feed still ends at Hotfix #4. Check for a later release announcement and match it to your platform before retrying the affected objective.
September 11 — Hotfix #3
The official notes add Second Life after Miracle Season to introduce the Composter. They also add Soil and Plant Booster Darts guides, fix inventory plant decay and address several crashes. Read the biomass steps. Hotfix #4 subsequently changes the durability and storage rules.
September 10 — Hotfix #2 and compatibility branch
Frozen Way introduced a Steam compatibility branch for persistent crashes and hardware compatibility problems. Follow the official branch-selection steps. It is a Steam option, not a console setting.
Earlier launch and demo information
The announced global launch schedule and the separate demo limits remain available. Patch notes for the full game do not establish that every demo or console version received identical changes.
