Quick answer

EON-sealed shelter protects against atmospheric immunity loss. Equippable Immunity Pumps increase immunity for longer trips, according to Hive Update #14 (December 2025). The devlog does not establish an instant refill on returning to base or a timer for the current game.

Why does immunity change outside?

Hive Update #14, published December 11, 2025, links the system to pathogens in Sota7’s atmosphere. It says immunity is not affected inside EON-sealed structures such as your base. It does not establish that every roof or unfinished shelter provides the same protection.

What do Immunity Pumps do?

The same update describes a blueprint for crafting pumps that you can equip to increase immunity and spend longer exploring. It does not give recipe costs, a numerical bonus or a verified unlock sequence.

  1. Check whether the blueprint is available in your current game.
  2. Read the displayed recipe before collecting materials.
  3. If you can craft a pump, equip it and check the status information your game shows.

These checks apply the announced mechanic; they do not establish how quickly immunity drains or recovers in the release build.

Does returning to base restore immunity?

The devlog establishes protection from atmospheric effects inside sealed structures. It does not establish instant refilling, a recovery rate or the effect of sleep. Check the status display before setting out again; do not assume stepping through a doorway has fully restored you.

Before your next trip

  • Check the current immunity indicator and any active warning.
  • Keep a route back to your sealed base, especially when entering unfamiliar terrain.
  • Read food and drink descriptions instead of assuming nutrition, thirst and immunity are interchangeable.
  • Equip the gathering tools needed for your objective so the trip has a clear purpose.

This is a suggested preparation checklist. Plant use and caution notes and wildlife safety information cover separate risks.

Food spoilage, durability and fainting after Hotfix #4

Steam Hotfix #4 applies a shared wear setting to used tools, worn equipment, vehicles, drones and stored food. The multiplier is 1.0 on Scientist, 1.25 on Survivalist and 2.0 on Space Hell; Engineer permits settings up to 2.0.

RuleHotfix #4 behavior
Storage spoilageAll containers and inventories use 15% of the world rotting rate. A powered fridge stops rotting.
Fainting penalty5% durability on Scientist; 10% on Survivalist; 15% on Space Hell.
Wild plantsGrowing plants in the world are excluded from the shared item-wear setting.

These version-specific rules replace earlier blanket decay advice. The inventory multipliers do not establish an exact shelf life for every food.
